What happens if it rains or it’s very windy?
Light drizzle and tolerable wind will not cancel the event, so please come prepared. In the event of inclement weather – strong wind or rain predicted at the time of screening, the show will be cancelled. You will receive an email and SMS notification (sent to the details provided during your booking with Webtickets) as soon as a decision has been made. This email will contain all the details you need to claim your exchange or refund of your tickets. Kindly note that no exchanges/refunds will be made after 7 days of the cancelled show. Can I bring my own chair or backrest?
Unfortunately no private chairs or backrests are allowed into the movie area. You can, however purchase a Warm & Comfy Ticket which includes a backrest and blanket.
Backrests and blankets can be rented on location, for R25 and R15 respectively. Payment via card or cash accepted.

Is there access for wheelchairs?
Most of our venues have wheelchair access, Upon entering the movie area, please contact the manager on duty, who will give you some options of where you can sit without obstructing the view of other guests. email info@bffopenaircinema.co.za at least 2 days before the show for us to arrange assistance on the day. The crew in black will be more than happy to assist you.
Is smoking allowed?
Kindly note that smoking, including electronic cigarettes and vaping, is not allowed anywhere except at the designated smoking area, which is always in full view of the screen.
What time do the gates/doors open?
Doors open at 18:00 during the week & 17:00 on Saturdays. Please note the opening times for Special Shows such as – Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s, Easter, and selected dates in the December holiday season may vary (Please check your ticket for the “Doors Open” time). We recommend arriving as doors open to reserve a good viewing spot on the lawn and enjoy some of the delicious food and drinks on sale at our local food market.
What time does the movie start?
Depending on the time of year, this will be any time from 19:30 to 20:30pm. Please visit our ticket & Movies page for specific movie times per movie screening.
How much do tickets cost?
Tickets range from R155, depending on your selected package. Please visit our Tickets page for more ticket options, including VIP ticket options.
If tickets are not sold out online, tickets can be purchased at the door via card payment only.
Chairs and blankets can also be rented on location for R25 and R15, respectively, via card or cash payment.
Do you offer pensioner discount? Yes, we do!
Pensioners (60+ years old) can book a Warm & Comfy ticket for only R155
(a R25 discount)! When purchasing your tickets on Webtickets, you will have the option of selecting a “Pensioner Ticket” which will require a valid ID during booking and with you on the night to validate. If tickets are not sold out online, tickets can be purchased at the door together with proof of your ID. Only card payments are accepted for purchasing tickets at the door.
What are the fees for Children?
Children attending The Galileo screenings aged 4 and older will need a ticket.
Children under the age of 4 do not require a ticket and can simply arrive at the show, unless stated otherwise.
The Galileo backrests and blankets can be rented on location too, for R25 and R15 respectively. Payment via card or cash accepted.
Which credit cards do you accept?
You can pay for your tickets online on Webtickets with all international and local cards including Mastercard, Visa, Amex or Diners Club card.
I don’t have a credit card, can I still purchase a ticket?
Sure. You may also pay via EFT, Snapscan, Masterpass and Zapper when purchasing your tickets online through Webtickets, or book your tickets online at Webtickets and pay in-store within 24 hours at a Pick n Pay or Boxer –Moneymarket counter
Can I purchase my ticket at the door?
Yes, you can, provided the tickets are not sold out online; tickets can be purchased at the door from R155 for a standard ticket. Only card payments are accepted for purchasing tickets at the door. To purchase a Pensioner ticket, you would need to present a valid ID and to purchase a Student ticket (tertiary students only), you would need your Varsity Vibe code.
How do I collect my ticket?
All ticketing is handled by Webtickets. As soon as you purchase your ticket online, you will receive an email with your ticket. You can have your ticket scanned from of your mobile device, provided that the barcode is visible, or if you must, you can print the ticket out and have it scanned that way. Please do not forget either your paper ticket or smartphone as we won’t be able to let you in without one of these.
How do I pay for food & drinks?
All food vendors accept Cash and have card facilities available. Please note that payment facilities may differ at Winelands Shows.
What food and drinks are available and can I bring my own?
We have various vendors selling a wide range of foods, including Halaal,
vegetarian and gluten-free options. These include (variety may differ slightly at different venues) pizzas, shawarmas, burgers, popcorn, chocolates, sweets, cool drinks, coffee, and alcoholic beverages. Please visit the Food page for more info.
You may bring your own food and drinks into all venues
Bag checks will be performed at the entrance of venues that enforce a nofood /alcohol policy or have other restrictions. As specified in the movie & event description.
